There is something magical about forests with fern or monstera. Just being there seems to calm the soul. Did you know fern do not have seeds, fruits or flowers? Not having seeds or flowers make it a lot like moss, which is another favorite of mine. Fern is extremely diverse with between 10,000 to 15,000 different species! And a fun fact about monstera that I did not know before reading is they produce edible fruit. When fully ripe, it tastes like a combo of pineapple & mango. But that’s the only edible part of the plant as all other parts, including the unripe fruit, contain calcium oxalate and are considered mildly toxic if ingested by humans. So, you want to make sure those fruits are ripe!
